Turn a character that you don't like relatively much into one of the options for the "High Price to Pay".
I'm not sure if my understanding is correct, and if this will have serious consequences, please save the game before using these files.
I love any of the four of them, but I have to make a tough decision.
When I first faced this choice, I felt an unprecedented sense of powerlessness and frustration, which made it impossible for me to continue playing the game. But as of now, we still have no way to avoid this sad event.
Through search engines, we can see that Todd Howard uses your two favorite characters(Either the character you have the most or second most affinity) as options to force you to make a choice, his basis is Companion Affinity.
So... we could make a character that we don't like relatively much one of the options before starting to choose, then...
This is a tough decision, copy the file you would like to use into your Starfield folder (where the Starfield.exe is located), and ingame bring up the console and type "bat Xd"(What X is depends on which file you choose) before you complete "Further Into the Unknown", the selected character will become the one with the highest level of Companion Affinity with you(I don't think others would higher than ten thousand), and become one of the options for the "High Price to Pay".
